Each Dazzle Hound Collar is completely custom made in Bellville, Ohio USA by Jodie Snavely.  After receiving your dog's neck measurements and leather color, I cut the leather to size from a large piece of English Bridle Leather.  I then smooth out and bevel the edges to ensure a comfortable fit for your dog and shave the leather to fit the buckle finish you have selected.  After dying the edges with water-based dye (entirely safe for your pet), I condition the leather to bring out its natural beauty and to protect the collar.  Next comes the fun part. I use a template to mark your design and then hand punch the holes to set your hardware, jewels, stones, conchos, rivets and spikes.  I then inspect the finished product and it is shipped to you with love!

Use a tape measure to measure around your dog's neck.  If you don't have a tape measure, use a string, then measure the string on a ruler. Don’t make it too tight or too loose. If your pet’s collar measurement is between two sizes, it’s best to round up—if your dog has a 16 ½” neck, round up to 17″. That way you will have room for pet growth or fur thickness.  

Double check your measurements and also make sure you have chosen the correct range in the size option. For instance, if your dog’s neck measures 17″, choose the collar size 16″-18″ in the drop-down menu. There are 5 holes with 1/2" spacing between holes for the buckle tongue.  The middle hole would fall on 17".  Visit How To Measure for details.

Yes. Your dog’s custom collar is guaranteed for life. If for any reason a stone, jewel or concho were to come loose, simply ship it back and I will fix it for free and ship it back to you for free. If your dog chews the collar and damages it, however, that’s not guaranteed. I want you and your pet to be perfectly satisfied, so please contact me with questions and my shipping address.

Condition it periodically with a quality leather conditioner that you would find in a shoe store. I use Fiebing’s Aussie Conditioner or Oakwood Leather Conditioner to preserve, soften, protect, and bring back to life. Dazzle Hound Collars are meant to be worn daily and enjoyed.

Ladies and gentlemen, I would love to make you a cuff!  Even a cuff to match your dog’s collar!  Measure around your wrist the same as you would for your dog’s neck. Cuffs are 5/8", 1″ or 1 1/2″ in width.
